Jackson
Jackson was born full-term via emergency c-section. His problems at birth were complicated by sepsis syndrome as well as pulmonary edema and evidence of congestive heart failure. He also developed problems with hypoglycemia and reflux. At 5 weeks he had a g-tube placed because of his feeding difficulities. The first year at home was pretty scary as first time parents. At 15 months he was diagnosed with cerebral palsy. The diagnosis was part devestating and part relief to finally know what we were dealing with.
Today Jackson is a very happy (and stubborn) 5 year old boy. He loves to play with trucks, Rockies games, and going bowling. He has been in physical, occupational, speech, and massage therapy since we brought him home from the hospital. We were thrilled to find conductive education here in our area. We were about to travel out of the country to give it a try. Jackson has only been going for a month, but we can see small changes already. We are looking forward to all the progress and confidence he will gain in the future using conductive education.
