James

James and his twin sister Libby were born April 2001, 11 weeks premature.  Because of James' complications due to his prematurity, he was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy at 5 weeks of age.  At 6 months, James received early intervention through Foot Hills Gateway.  We had a team of therapists come to our house on a weekly basis. We started to notice James' high tone when he was about 18-months.  James has had several procedures to help control his muscle tone.  A parent who had taken her daughter to a CE camp and was receiving Conductive Education locally referred us to the Conductive Education program.  We were so inspired by her daughter's results that we also attended a CE camp in Arizona.  We were absolutely amazed at what Conductive Education was all about and how successful the program is for children with Cerebral Palsy.  At the camp, James was working nonstop for 4 hours a day 5 days a week and loving every minute of it.  We saw him gain strength in areas where he was weak and flexibility in areas where he was extremely tight.  James is currently receiving Conductive Education 2 times a week for 5 hours each session.  During this time, he is working nonstop.  The conductors are amazing!  They are patient, encouraging and loving to James.  He is always happy to go to CE.  We are so excited to attend CFCE's camps because we have seen what 5 days a week gives to James.  We are forever indebted to Colorado Foundation for Conductive Education because they have given our family the kind of treatment James needs and deserves!
