CFCE has several Conductive Education programs to meet the needs of individuals with motor disabilities.  We have monthly classes for children beginning at age 2.  A  class could be for 2, 3 or 5 hours; one to five days per week.  A student can be in a group or individual setting.  Most of our children attend two or more classes per week for 5 hours per class.  Each child is under constant supervision from the Conductive Education conductor-teacher.  Another very important time for the children are the Seasonal Camps that are held one to three times per year.

CFCE also provides monthly classes for teens and adults.  We are currently in the planning stages of an infant program.

If you have a family member that can benefit from our CE program and you would like to schedule an appointment for an evaluation, contact us @ 970-667-0348 begin_of_the_skype_highlighting              970-667-0348      end_of_the_skype_highlighting or email us at roxanne.cfce@yahoo.com.  The following are the programs offered at CFCE:

MONTHLY CLASSES

Children's Program:  Conductive Education is a program based on a group setting, although, individual classes are available.  Children learn and play with their peers in a therapeutic setting with age appropriate toys and equipment.  They learn in a fun environment with songs and fun activities, yet at all times, they are developing their speech and language skills, as well as, overall physical and cognitive skills.

Each child will be assessed by the conductor-teacher for 1.5 to 2 hours prior to starting a Conductive Education program. The conductor-teacher will then meet with you and present you with an evaluation as to whether or not Conductive Education will benefit your child.  The conductor-teacher will also advise if your child would do best in an individual or group setting. The group setting will be based on his/her age and motor ability.

Teen Program:  Our teen program usually takes place after school.  At the Center, the teens learn social skills;  they do their homework, work on posturing in their wheelchair, how to adjust their wheelchair, stand up and sit down, learn independent ways of transfer to and from school and home and work and much more.  They do Conductive Education therapy exercises at the CFCE Center on CE equipment.

Each teen will be assessed by the conductor-teacher prior to starting classes at the CFCE Center.  The conductor-teacher will then meet  with you and present you with an evaluation as to whether or not Conductive Education will benefit your teen.  You will also be advised if your child would do best in an individual or group setting.

Adult Program:  Conductive Education can help adults achieve the motivation they need to overcome problems of movement in the body.  Conductive Education is not limited to children and teens.  It is a great program for adults, as well.  A conductor-teacher can offer services for the following medical conditions:  Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson's disease, head and spine injuries, cerebral palsy and stroke.

Condutor-teachers are specially trained to work with individuals to help them to re-learn skills that have been lost or to adapt new ways of achieving them.  When working with a conductor-teacher some adults develop a new body awareness and self-motivation to achieve new goals;  renewing their confidence and helping them achieve a level of independence.

Infant Program:  We are in the planning stage of our infant program.  If you are interested in more information, contact us at 970-667-0348 begin_of_the_skype_highlighting              970-667-0348      end_of_the_skype_highlighting

Seasonal Camps:  CFCE will hold one to three seasonal camps per year.  These are intensive 5 hour a day, 5 day a week, (M-F) classes that last for four weeks. For instance, a summer camp may begin June 1st and run for 4 weeks to the end of June. Because these are intensive sessions and for a longer period of time, the parents usually see significant improvement in walking, sitting, standing and self-feeding.  For more information contact us at 970-667-0348 begin_of_the_skype_highlighting              970-667-0348      end_of_the_skype_highlighting

Scholarship Program:  Raising a child or teen with a motor disability can cause a financial stress on the family and we here at CFCE realize that and understand the need for financial assistance for families with a motor disabled member. CFCE is striving to raise money from generous corporations and individuals by asking them to donate to our scholarship fund to help cover part or all of the qualified participant's expense for Conductive Education.  If you are a corporation or individual interested in funding this program, contact us at 970-667-0348 begin_of_the_skype_highlighting              970-667-0348      end_of_the_skype_highlighting.  If you are interested in applying for a scholarship for your motor disabled family member, contact us at 970-667-0348 or email us at roxanne.cfce@yahoo.com, for more information and application form.  Also, click on the Support page at the top of this Programs section to read all the ways you can help support or donate to CFCE.

If you are interested in applying for a full-time or part-time position  with CFCE, contact us at 970-667-0348 or email us at roxanne.cfce@yahoo.com.  Class assistants will receive on-the-job training from the conductor-teacher.
